Career Nannies

A career nanny is a highly experienced childcare professional who has chosen nannying as their long-term profession rather than a temporary job or stepping stone. Unlike occasional or part-time babysitters, career nannies are deeply committed to child development and bring a wealth of knowledge, training, and hands-on experience to the families they serve.

Career nannies often hold certifications in CPR and first aid, early childhood education, or child psychology, and many have years of experience working with children of all ages. They are skilled in creating structured routines, supporting developmental milestones, managing behavioral challenges, and communicating effectively with parents. Career nannies typically seek long-term positions where they can become a stable and trusted presence in a child’s life, often forming lasting bonds with the families they support. Families looking for dedicated, professional childcare often turn to career nannies for their reliability, expertise, and genuine passion for nurturing children. We place career nannies with families throughout Boston and the surrounding neighborhoods. Our Boston families trust us for full-time and part-time nanny and Household Management placements.

Household Managers

A Nanny/Household Manager is a dual-role professional who provides both high-quality childcare and efficient household management. This individual not only cares for children—ensuring their safety, development, and daily routines—but also helps keep the household running smoothly. On the nanny side, responsibilities include planning age-appropriate activities, school pick-ups, preparing meals for the children, and maintaining their schedules. On the household management side, tasks can include organizing family calendars, overseeing home maintenance, running errands, coordinating with vendors or service providers, grocery shopping, and light household organization.

This role is ideal for busy families who need dependable support in both childcare and home operations. A skilled Nanny/Household Manager brings professionalism, flexibility, and structure to the household, making them an invaluable asset to modern family life.

As a busy parent, finding the right nanny for your family can be a challenging task. Fortunately, working with a reputable nanny agency, like The Nanny Haven - Boston, will make the process much smoother and stress-free. Some benefits include:

Access to a Large Pool of Qualified Nannies

One of the biggest benefits of working with a nanny agency is having access to a large pool of qualified nannies. Agencies typically have an extensive database of pre-screened and vetted candidates, which means you'll have a better chance of finding the right match for your family. This can save you a significant amount of time and effort compared to searching for nannies on your own.

    A Replacement Period

There is nothing more frustrating than vetting a candidate, hiring, and it doesn’t work out. The Nanny Haven offers a full year replacement period for a Full-Time Placement with us.

    Expertise and Support

Nanny agencies employ experienced and knowledgeable staff who can provide you with valuable guidance and support throughout the hiring process. They can help you navigate the interview process, provide advice on salary and benefits, and offer assistance with background checks and reference checks. This can be especially helpful if you're new to the nanny hiring process.

    Quality Assurance

Working with a reputable nanny agency can provide you with peace of mind knowing that the nannies they recommend have undergone a thorough screening process. Agencies typically conduct extensive background checks, verify references, and ensure that candidates have the necessary qualifications and experience to provide high-quality childcare. This can help you avoid the risks and uncertainties associated with hiring a nanny on your own.

    Flexibility

Nanny agencies can offer a range of options to meet your specific needs, whether you're looking for full-time or part-time care, live-in or live-out nannies, or temporary or permanent placement. They can also provide backup care if your regular nanny is unavailable due to illness or other reasons, which can be a lifesaver for busy parents.

    Continued Support

Once you've hired a nanny through an agency, you'll typically have continued support and resources available to you. Agencies can provide guidance on how to manage your nanny-employer relationship, offer training and development opportunities for your nanny, and provide assistance with any issues that may arise during the employment relationship.
